Review: Poetry by Love & Cheesecake

Everytime there’s a new cafe in the city, we are the first ones to drop by and try it. It was no different with Poetry, a newly opened cafe by the guys behind dessert chain, Love & Cheesecake.

We went there on a rainy weekday evening and we were delighted with the cute little space with an abstract feel to it, justifies the name, Poetry. One side of the cafe had an enticing line up of desserts while the other side had a few tables to accomodate the customers.

We started with trying the Hot Chocolate. Extremely fascinating, the Nutella Hot Chocolate was. A chocolate ball in an empty glass and milk is poured over, these little gimmicks, we love ’em! The Hot Chocolate was not very dense and a good portion for one! We also tried the Nutella Layered Cheesecake and it was no surprise that we love it!

The interested part was that they give you the bill inside a book, a poetry book! How thoughtful! This one we’re sure is here to stay and is an absolute delight to visit.

Review: A Chocolate Affair

Who doesn’t love chocolates! And for all the chocoholics, Bandra welcomes the Austrailian dessert chain, A Chocolate Affair, which replaces Open Bake and China Lounge.
The perfect way to end your meal, A Chocolate Affair absolutely amazed us as we entered. Like little children, we started questioning the staff about the fancy pipes that were around the place. The staff informed us that they churn out pure chocolate, which is then passed into out drinks and desserts from those pipes. Wow!
We started to check out the menu which had options like Chocolate Pizzas, Hot Chocolate, Cakes and a lot more. The owner informed us that everything they serve contains pure melted chocolate without any kind of adulteration, no cocoa, no syrups. Fascinated, we started ordering. We called for the Decadent Belgian Waffles and Spanish Churros. They gave us an option of choosing between milk chocolate and dark chocolate.
The waffle was served with banana pieces and vanilla ice-cream. It was absolutely amazing and perfectly sinful! Big enough for two people to share, it was topped with melted chocolate.
The Spanish Churros, were like long fried sticks served with melted chocolate dip. They claimed that the Churros was their speciality and every visitor must try them. Undeniably, they were super yummy! One suggestion, opt for the dark chocolate instead of the milk chocolate if you are not too fond of sweet.
Overall, we were more than pleased to visit this amazing chocolaty place and can’t wait to go back there!
