Anita Dongre’s brand Global Desi recently launched their new Autumn Winter Collection called the MiMaMo Collection. Mithila, Madhubani and Mosaic are the inspirations behind the collection. Boho style Short skirts, jackets, tunics, palazzos and maxis, this collection is for all those who love blending Indian with Western. Layering was an importing aspect of this collection keeping in mind the latest trend.

The crop tops and maxis were our favourites from this collection. Here is a sneak peek:

All Things Nice Wine Week Begins

The Wine Week is back and this time the preview dinner was held at Sofitel’s Jyran.

Hosted by Nikhil Agarwal, founder of All Things Nice, the preview dinner showcased a selection of wines paired with a five course meal. The wines that we tried included Grover Vineyards Art Collection Sauvignon Blanc 2013, India, Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2011 Marlborough, New Zealand, Charosa Vineyards Viognier 2013 Charosa, India,  Vina Edmara Chardonnay 2013 Central Valley, Chile, Vallonné Vineyards Rose 2013 Nasik, India, Myra Vineyards Reserve Shiraz 2013, India,  Ets Thunevin Bad Boy 2011, Bordeaux, France, Reveilo Late Harvest Chenin Blanc 2013 Nasik, India.

Our favourites from these were the Charosa Viognier 2013, Vallonné Rose 2013 and the Myra Reserve Shiraz 2013. Sushi Making Workshop at Busago

At a recent event organized by FBAI – Food Bloggers Association of India, Nikhil Chib of Busago conducted a brief workshop on how to make Sushi. We keenly listened and post that attempted to roll our own versions of Sushi. For all those who want to try it at home, we got it recorded. Here’s how you make sushi.

All of us were given a couple of ingredients alongwith the rolling mat and sticky rice. We had to create our versions of the Sushi which would ultimately be tasted and rated by Nikhil and Natasha Chib.

Event: Wine Bazaar at Out of the Blue

Out of the blue hosted a wine gala, which certainly sent the wine admirers into a wine heaven. Some refreshing and soulful live jazz music playing and an array of wines from across the globe made the evening truly enjoyable. The wine bazaar displayed a number of top wine brands and sellers like The Wine kart, Reveilo, Grover Zampa, Berkmann, Wine Park, York and more. The tasting was interesting with friendly interactions with the representatives of the brands.

We tasted a number of wines teamed with some olives and cheese. Starting with the York Chenin Blanc, which was quite a winner. Then, we went ahead to try a couple of varieties from The Wine Park, which included Rosso, NV and their MAN Family Wines, Pinotage, 2012, refreshing, fruity and flavourful notes, we are definitely ordering in from here. After a couple of rounds around the venue, we hopped to the Grover Zampa wines stall to try their Zampa Rosé. Served chilled with confusing notes, this one didn’t quite impress us so we gave the other Zampa wines a miss!

We were in some vino heaven only to drool over some Bibi Graetz Casamatta, a beautiful Tuscany wine by The Wine Kart.

We saved the best for the last, our last stop was the Revelio wine counter. Their Late Harvest Chenin Blanc was the only dessert wine at the tasting and was certainly the perfect end to out wine trail.

You can buy all these wines and many more from The Wine Kart, Lets Buy Drink and WineOnlineIndia.

Entry to Wine Bazaar costed Rs. 500, inclusive of taxes, per person.
